![]() ![]() YouTuber Syndicate, real name Tom Cassell, has denied sexually assaulting two of his ex-partners. A BBC article covered it at the time, back in June of 2020. Syndicate was also unfortunate enough to be on the end of some false allegations by two of his former friends. Once this became apparent, he made a post on Twitter claiming that he would aim to be more transparent going forwards. Since he was in fact the vice-president of the company and he didn’t disclose the conflict, Cassell breached FTC regulations yet again. Posting let’s play videos of 3BlackDot’s game “Dead Realm” to YouTube without stating that they were financially tied to the product meant that they broke the terms.įurthermore, in July 2016, Cassell was involved in promoting a gambling website called CSGOLotto. Later in 2015, Cassell was found to have breached FTC guidelines again due to similar reasons. Jetpak was a multi-channel network launched in cooperation with 3BlackDot, a major media company. With goals to introduce a fairer payment system, Cassell and Adam Montoya (another YouTuber known as SeaNanners) started Jetpak in November 2014. The Xbox One endorsement fell on its face when it became apparent that the campaign had violated Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations, failing to state that Cassell and the other YouTubers “were paid by Microsoft to say nice things about Xbox One and its games.” ![]() Organized by Machinima, the campaign paid Cassell $30,000.Ĭassell’s great success didn’t come without some complications, however.
